The Damage of Third Molars

⭐️🦷One indication to removal third molars are that they can cause damage to the adjacent second molar, which should be fully functional teeth. This is usually why they are extracted in the mid to late teens.

On our first patient, this is an 39 year old patient, with an impacted third molar that caused the second molar to have a larger cavity.

On our second patient, Here is an impacted third molar that not only caused caries to the adjacent second molar but also caused an indentation in the roots of that tooth that caused the patient pain.
